The latest new feature we are bringing to you is the Player XP Change Detection System (CDS). This feature helps you keep track of the changes that happen in your community’s data to ensure that you never miss the key insights that can help you improve your game.

Activating CDS

The Change Detection System will allow you to set up Email and Slack notifications when changes in your data occur. When setting up CDS, you can choose what pages on the Player XP dashboard to create an alert for. Once this is done, you will be notified of changes on this page. For example, if you want to monitor a specific category or topic and be alerted about any changes in its sentiment, you can create an alert and you will be notified by Player XP if or when a change occurs.

When creating an alert using CDS, you will also need to set a period of time that the alerts will measure. You can set alerts to measure data from the last 1 or 7 days, 4 or 8 weeks, and 3, 6 or 12 months. To create an alert, click the “Create Alert” button in the page banner when viewing a game on the dashboard.

Customisation

When creating an alert using CDS, there are multiple filters you can use to determine what changes you will be notified of. For example, when setting up an alert for a page, you can choose to receive notifications on sentiment or volume changes. This includes setting a scale for sentiment, for example, if sentiment drops below a specific score that you choose, you will be notified of this. With volume, you can set a minimum volume for your game, so if it reaches that target number of interactions, we will send an alert.

Alerts & Email Destinations

When you set up CDS, you will choose your destinations for alerts from Player XP, such as your team’s emails and/or Slack channels. We are also working to introduce SMS notifications in the future if you prefer to be alerted this way.

Once alerts and alert destinations have been set up, you can change or delete them at any time if you no longer wish to receive notifications, or if you want to be alerted for a different set of data. You can also change, delete or add your saved alert destinations.
