GDC Event 2022

Who to look out for?

To help you get the most out of GDC 2022, we have put together a list of talks we feel you should look for. These talks are coming to you from multiple Summits which may be intriguing to you game devs. This includes the Community Management Summit, Games Summit, Fair Play Summit, and much more in areas that will spark your interest.

1. Eylul Ozekes

First up is Eylul Ozekes who will be presenting a talk within the Community Management Summit named ‘The co-creation loop – How to Motivate Communities for Enhanced Value’. Eylul is Sarepta Studio’s marketing manager, who believes in focusing on co-creation for a more engaged audience. Targeted at game developers and community managers, this in-person talk will take you through the ‘understanding, motivation and co-creation loop’ (GDC, 2022), as well as ways to use psychographic targeting to your advantage.

Use this 30 minute talk to ‘Get a deeper understanding of what creates value for your audience – and what you can get in return.’ (GDC,2022).

You can find this talk in room 2016, West Hall on Monday 21st March at 1:20 pm. If you are not attending this event in person, this talk will be recorded and placed in the GDC Vault for you to watch another time.

2. Dean Anderson

Our second recommendation is also in the Community Management Summit, this time looking at redefining user-generated content for a new era. Dean Anderson, Co-founder and CEO of Playerstate, will be presenting the talk to teach the benefits of user-generated content (UGC). Dean will dive into ways to utilise UGC results to benefit player engagement and retention, as well as offer tips on how to manage UGC creators.

Head to room 2006, West Hall on Monday 21st to catch Dean at 2:10 pm for his informative 30-minute talk, or watch online via the GDC virtual live stream.
